Turbo Jam

I did it. I cleaned up the garage tonight and fired up the TV and DVD player so that I could do the Turbo Jam. I really don't care for doing these videos alone, but you just can't beat the workout. I can't make it to the gym at night to do the class, and I don't even go to that gym anymore. You burn 1000 calories during this one workout. I made it a little over halfway tonight. I look forward to being able to wear it out again. My abs and arms are already burning, but it's a burn I like.

After a week of sinus infection and then a week of revival, I'm ready to get on this exercise wagon again. 86 days to Hawaii. 86 days to lessen the chance of being mistaken for a beached whale.

TURBO JAM!!!!

Never fear dear readers...

I am here. I've been so busy with revival this week that I haven't even opened the computer from home at night. It was a great revival, but I've enjoyed tonight's evening at home.

As I expected, it happened today. I had deal with someone who had no idea that right-of-way existed. Let me explain my basic issue with this. When you drive you have to make decisions ahead of time. You have to know what's coming and prepare for it. When you have the right-of-way, take it. If you give someone else the right-of-way to be nice, you just stink it up for the rest of us. It takes more time for the people around you to figure things out because you decided to be "nice" than it would for you to just follow the rules of the road. Yes, I'm an advocate of being polite, but is it really nice if you are messing it up for the rest of us. Just drive. Pay attention and drive. Please. If you don't, I'll be the girl in the black Saturn behind you screaming, RIGHT OF WAY. RIGHT OF WAY.TAKE THE RIGHT OF WAY!!!!!

Okay. I feel better.

And I love it!

Since last night my buddy Tom over at Specs Appeal gave me a mention, I thought I would do the same and show my love for the Kindle of which he spoke.

People, if you don't have a Kindle, and you read, you need one. I've never been happier with a technological purchase as I am with this one. I'm even throwing my iPod in there. And you all know how much I love that iPod. The convenience of the Kindle and the functionality is just perfect for me. If you go to church with me, this is what I'm using now instead of bringing my Bible. I love the search functions and the ease of use all the way around. So yes, Tommy, I do swoon over it. And rightly so. Oh...and have I mentioned how many free, yes I said free, books are available?!?!? I was very pleasantly surprised when I figured out this piece of wonderful news. (Thanks Cousin Tricia!)

Feel free to ask me about this wonder any time. I promise to put the Kindle down and talk to you about it.

I feel all accomplished.

I'm a breakfast kind of gal. I love all things about it. Eggs, breakfast meat, biscuits, gravy, waffles, fruit, cereal, muffins, anything. I am dangerous at a breakfast buffet!

So, here I am trying to lose weight and do better. Thanks to Hungry Girl I found a way to make the breakfast sandwich better for me. With much trepidation, I mean, we are talking veggie sausage here, I made this meal tonight.

1 Natural Life English Muffin
1 Morning Star Sausage Patty
1/4 cup of Egg Beaters
Small sprinkle of cheese

I have to admit, this was good. Really good. I sauteed some mushrooms and zucchini as well (in spray butter so it was NO points!!!) and had a nice meal. That whole sandwich is only 5.5 points. A regular sausage egg McMuffin has 9 and my favorite sandwich, the Bacon Egg and Cheese Biscuit, has 12. Not to mention the hash brown that I would have had. I'm feeling pretty accomplished right now. I may make it.

What a weekend!

This was a whirlwind weekend in my life. I got to spend lots of time with the girls in the family. Turns out we ALL love a road trip. It was good to see Pa-Paw and the rest of the Missouri fam. Hopefully the coming physical therapy will be great and help Pa-Paw feel better soon.

I got to see another musical on Saturday with Beauty and the Beast. It was great. Not the best I've ever seen, but I'm always happy to see live theater. It makes me very happy.

Here we go off to another week of work and life in general. I know that several of you are anxiously awaiting the blog about rights of way. It's coming. But trust me. It'll be way more entertaining if we wait until someone ticks me off and then I write it. It's better in the heat of the moment.

And I leave you with the love of my life and my favorite snuggle partner...

Novel idea

Excuse me while I rant this one out.

Our cars were created with amazing things called blinkers. To quote a great bumper sticker that I saw online today, "Were blinkers optional for your vehicle?" Blinkers help the people driving around you make adjustments and decisions in order to provide the best driving atmosphere for everyone. Not using your blinkers makes me want to take the ball bat out from under my seat that LaVar always told me to carry and beat the crap out of your rear lights. I mean, you aren't using them. Is it really a problem if I take out my frustration that way? That's what I'm going to tell the cop when he shows up at least.

Next up on Dawn's Life...Learn how to address right of way situations. A beginners guide.

Lies and Deceit!

Okay. I know it's my fault for not reading through everything, but this just happened.

I'm trying to lose weight. I don't like the work diet. I'm changing lots of things. I've finally come to terms with the fact that there isn't a quick way to make this happen. I'm comfortable with making small changes that are turning into big changes. Food has always been a serious problem for me. I hide it from people, I sneak it, I love it, I crave it, I love to cook it, and it makes me happy. But, I started weight watchers and have finally made the strides to learn about food, what it does for me, when I need it, etc...It's hard. Really hard. But I'm slowly dying from diabetes. No, I'm not on insulin or really have to take much medication, but I'm on a very destructive path because I can't say no to a cookie. Seriously, Dawn, put the cookie down!

So, I stopped by the local convenience store tonight on the way home from choir for a snack since I haven't eaten since lunch. People, me, Dawn Renee Tittle, champion eater, had not had a single bite since 1:00 PM. I was shocked. So, I knew that I wanted something snacky. In a huge step for me I chose a small bag of chips over a really large one. Normally I wouldn't even stop at the small ones. If you are going to eat chips, EAT THE CHIPS. Don't be a pansy. So, I pick up a bag of my favorites. I'm thinking 250 calories or so. Not a good idea, but a better decision that I would previously made.

People, this little tiny bag of chips had 400 calories. 400! 200X2! 100X4! There were THREE servings in that little bag. Someone needs a piece of my mind!!! Heed my warning. Stay away from the cookie AND the chips.

I'm sorry I've neglected you...

I started a private blog with a buddy of mine as we go on a personal journey that we only want to share with each other right now. You'll all be clued in soon enough, so never fear.

Let's just say that I'm a really good place right now. I will admit that at the first of the year I was down. Just bored I guess. I was able to get out of town other day and see the fabulous Holli, the wonderful Miranda and Becky, and the Murfreesboro gang. That helped immensely.

I took my parents to see Jersey Boys. Ladies and Gentlemen, if you get a chance to see it, run, do not walk, to get tickets. It's truly the best show I've ever seen!!! Go see it!

Then, last weekend, I got to see Harry Connick Jr. in concert again. Oh my! That man makes me so happy. SO HAPPY. He could sing me the phone book and I would be in heaven. LOVE HIM!!! Brad and I had a blast at dinner and the concert. Then we sang old country songs all the way home. What a weekend!

Again, apologies for being behind on the blog. Oh who cares??? No one is reading it right now anyway. :)
